## Grading Scale
The students will be given points for all assignments, but grades will be weighted with the following percentages:
Major Assessments: 50% Quizzes: 30% Assignments: 20% |
## Materials
The student is responsible for bringing the following items to class each day:
- Four folders with pockets and brads
- Lined paper (college ruled)
- Pencil and eraser
- Class supply (will be discussed first day)
- Textbook/Workbook etc

## Course Description

**Part 1:**In this course, students will use geometric thinking to understand mathematical concepts and the relationships among them. Students will analyze patterns and relationships that emerge from zero, one, two, and three dimensions and the relationships among them and will study the properties having to do with size, shape, location, direction, and orientation of these figures. They will perceive the connection between geometry and the real and mathematical worlds and use geometric ideas, relationships, and properties to solve problems. Numerous hands-on experiences will be provided, and graphing calculator technology will be integrated throughout this course.

**Part 2:**Students will use a variety of representations (concrete, pictorial, numerical, symbolic, graphical, and verbal), tools, and technology to solve meaningful problems by representing and transforming figures and analyzing relationships. Numerous hands-on experiences will be provided, and graphing calculator technology will be integrated throughout this course.
